Welcome!

Welcome to The Rookie Homeschoolers Club, I'm so glad you're here! I am by no means a homeschool expert, in fact I feel like a total rookie even though I've researched and thought about homeschooling for years. I've bought curriculum for fun, used teacher resources to supplement my kids learning at home during the school year, workbooks to prevent the summer slide, etc... but still, I feel like an anomaly in the homeschooler space. It's true, I homeschool my 6th grader, and have a 7th grader at a charter school, a 2nd grader at our community school, and my almost 4yr old son enjoys speech intervention preschool five afternoons a week.

School choice is clearly something I'm passionate about, and I think it's really important to do what's best for each individual child. Approaching my children's education this way has brought certain logistical challenges, however since the day I brought my 6th grader home to learn (September 30), life has been infinitely better. Yes, you read that right, she started the year AT SCHOOL! You might say "I didn't choose the homeschool life; the homeschool life chose me", thanks Tupac. Fun story for another day... Right now I'm looking forward to sharing my rookie tips, helpful resources and of course, documenting this homeschool adventure, the good, the messy and the fun!

Thanks for being here with me, leave a comment and tell me a little about your homeschool adventure!
